Thursday was Dairy Day at Schuylkill County Fair

Got Milk? The Schuylkill County Fair celebrated Dairy Day on Thursday.

Milk chugging and ice cream eating contests were some of the activities in the 23rd edition of the fair yesterday. In addition, young people who raised livestock brought their animals to auction during the early evening.

While it was still very warm outside, a large crowd came to the fair to hear some great oldies music. Local favorite Flamin' Dick and the Hot Rods opened the evening, followed by the legendary Johnny Maestro and the Brooklyn Bridge, who brought the house down with a mix of their hits and other blue-eyed soul favorites. A standing ovation capped the evening's festivities.

Only two days remain at the fair, but are jam-packed. During today's Country Day, The McKabes will take the stage at 7pm, and the nightcap features country superstar Tracy Byrd.
