Cressona teen suspected of DUI after crash Thursday

A Cressona teen is suspected of driving under the influence after a crash in the borough Thursday.

The 17-year-old teen was driving on Ash Street and crossed into the opposite lane and struck an embankment, then spun around, coming to rest on its passenger side. The car then continued spinning, righting itself.

He was able to drive to a nearby cemetery to change a flat tire, when police arrived.

Troopers suspected that he had alcohol on his breath, and issued a field sobriety test. He was taken to Pottsville Hospital for a blood alcohol test.

Charges are pending the results of those tests.
