Schuylkill County Commissioners meeting highlights

Bids were opened for a storm-water improvement project at Wednesday's Schuylkill County Commissioners work session.

Five bidders submitted estimates to complete the project in East Norwegian Township, and ranged from just over $81-thousand-dollars to nearly $158-thousand-dollars. The work will be paid for from 2003 Community Development Block Grant monies. The contract will be awarded at next week's meeting.

In other business, Craig Morgan, the Schuylkill Conservation District Manager, was appointed as agent on matters related to the district, to apply for and execute documents related to the public disaster assistance application and the agreement for financial assistance related to the recent flood. William Liptok, the county public works director, was appointed to a similar position to act on behalf of the county.
