Pottsville man will do time in federal prison

A Pottsville man will spend 8 years in federal prison on various charges.

According to U.S. Attorney Thomas Marino, 28-year-old Jamie McCabe was sentenced for conspiracy to possess a firearm by a convicted felon and other charges.

McCabe was apprehended in July, 2005, during a major drug trafficking investigation, after he exchanged a .22 caliber revolver for crack cocaine and heroin in Minersville. McCabe has a history of felony convictions and is prohibited by law from possessing a firearm.

He will spend 96-months in federal prison, and will have a three-year term of supervised release following the completion of his term.
