HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) - A new poll shows Governor Ed Rendell has an all-time high approval rating, but his Pennsylvanian constituents do not want him to run for president -- nor would they support him if he did run. The Quinnipiac poll detected a 61 percent approval rating for Rendell, but 72 percent said they wouldn't vote for him for president.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - State Senator Vincent Fumo is to surrender to the F-B-I today in Philadelphia. Fumo was indicted yesterday on charges of defrauding the Senate of one (m) million dollars by using Senate employees for his personal benefit and abusing his authority to hire contractors. He is also accused of misusing a charity he controls.

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) - The Pennsylvania House Speaker's Commission on Legislative Reform meets this morning. The commission is in the midst of a six-week project to come up with recommended changes to House operations. The House is scheduled to consider changes to its rules the week of March 12th.

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (AP) - About 50 employees at General Kinetics Incorporated in Cambria County have been notified that this will be their last day of work. Officials at the Upper Yoder Township firm told the workers several days ago the company plans to seek Chapter Seven bankruptcy protection, which typically leads to liquidation.

YORK, Pa. (AP) - Harley-Davidson officials met with union leaders to try to resolve the strike at the company's largest factory in York. The outcome is unclear. About 28-hundred workers at the York plant struck last week after their contract expired. Harley-Davidson says now it may have to lay off as many as 740 workers at its Wisconsin factories.
