WOMAN DIES DURING FIGHT

A POTTSVILLE WOMAN IS DEAD THIS MORNING FOLLOWING A FIGHT ON WEDNESDAY. 45 YEAR OLD RUTH ANN GOLDEN WAS INVOLVED IN A FIGHT WITH 60 YEAR OLD JOSEPH PINNELLE. ACCORDING TO POLICE REPORTS GOLDEN BIT DOWN ON PINNELLE'S FINGER AND AT SOME POINT PASSED OUT AFTER PINNELLE STRUCK HER. PINNELLE FLED THE STATE ONLY TO RETURN YESTERDAY TO TURN HIMSELF IN TO AUTHORITIES. SCHUYLKILL COUNTY DISTRICT ATTORNEY JIM GOODMAN IS NOW DECIDING WHETHER TO CHARGE PINNELLE WITH HOMICIDE.

WOMAN CONVICTED OF THEFT

A POTTSVILLE WOMAN FACES UP TO SEVEN YEARS BEHIND BARS AFTER HER CONVICTION ON THURSDAY. 41 YEAR OLD BARBARA ANN DOYLE WAS FOUND GUILTY OF STEALING 60 THOUSAND DOLLARS FROM MARY CARESTIA OF PALO ALTO. THE 89 YEAR OLD WOMAN PASSED AWAY IN JANUARY. DOYLE WAS A CAREGIVER FOR CARESTIA AT THE TIME OF THE THEFT

ATV CLAIMS MCADOO MAN'S LIFE

AN ATV ACCIDENT CLAIMED THE LIFE OF A MCADOO MAN LATE WEDNESDAY IN HAZLE TOWNSHIP. THE REPUBLICAN HERALD REPORTS, 45-YEAR-OLD ERIC PELTZ DIED AFTER BEING THROWN FROM HIS ATV AFTER BEING HIT BY A VEHICLE. PELTZ WAS DRIVING WITH HIS LIGHTS TURNED OFF AND WAS NOT WEARING A HELMET.

TWO STATE POLICE OFFICERS RECOGNIZED FOR THEIR BRAVERY

A GROUP OF PENNSYLVANIA STATE POLICE EMPLOYEES ARE BEING HONORED AT THE STATE POLICE ACADEMY IN HERSHEY. STATE POLICE COMMISSIONER FRANK NOONAN WILL PRESENT THE AWARDS
TO PEOPLE INCLUDING FOUR TROOPERS WHO RESPONDED TO THE SCENE OF THE FATAL SHOOTING OF TROOPER PAUL RICHEY IN VENANGO COUNTY IN JANUARY 2010. ALSO GETTING AN AWARD IS A TROOPER WHO WAS OFF-DUTY WHEN HE SAVED THE LIFE OF A FRIEND AFTER THEIR FISHING BOAT CAPSIZED IN LAKE ERIE IN AUGUST.TWO SCHUYLKILL COUNTY TROOPERS WHO ENTERED RAGING FLOOD WATERS IN AN ATTEMPT TO SAVE A MAN FROM HIS SUBMERGED VEHICLE IN MARCH ALSO WILL BE COMMENDED

PITTSBURGH (AP) - EXXONMOBIL CORPORATION HAS MADE ANOTHER LARGE PURCHASE OF MARCELLUS SHALE NATURAL GAS LEASES.
