MINERSVILLE STORE HIT TWICE IN SEVERAL DAYS

A MINERSVILLE BUSINESS WAS BURGLARIZED TWICE IN SEVERAL DAYS. BOROUGH POLICE SAY THAT EARLY MONDAY SOMEONE BROKE INTO MINERSVILLE GENERAL STORE AT 119 NORTH SECOND STREET BY PRYING OPEN THE FRONT DOOR. THE BUSINESS WAS REPORTEDLY RANSACKED, AND SEVERAL DOZEN CARTONS OF CIGARETTES, CASH AND OTHER ITEMS TAKEN. OVERNIGHT TUESDAY, THE BUSINESS WAS BURGLARIZED AGAIN WITH ITEMS TAKEN. MINERSVILLE POLICE ARE LOOKING FOR LEADS IN THE CASE, AND WELCOME ANY INFORMATION. CALL THEM AT 544-2333.

ONE INJURED IN CRASH NEAR MARLIN

A MINERSVILLE MOTORCYCLIST WAS INJURED IN A CRASH WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON NEAR MARLIN. A VEHICLE DRIVEN BY JAMES LIVINGSTON OF CAMP HILL WAS LEAVING THE PARKING LOT AT TREDEGAR FILMS, WAITING TO TURN ONTO MAPLE AVENUE AND WENT INTO THE PATH OF A MOTORCYCLE OPERATED BY JOHN NUSH JR. THE CYCLE WENT ONTO ITS LEFT SIDE AND HIT THE DRIVERS SIDE OF LIVINGSTON'S CAR. NUSH HAD MODERATE INJURIES AND WAS TAKEN TO SCHUYLKILL MEDICAL CENTER EAST FOR TREATMENT. THE CRASH HAPPENED AFTER 4PM.

WILKES-BARRE, PA. (AP) - AUTHORITIES SAY A NORTHEASTERN PENNSYLVANIA BARBER WAS TAKING A LITTLE OFF THE TOP AT THE COUNTY'S EXPENSE. ROBERT M. LICATA IS CHARGED WITH STEALING ALMOST $6,000 FROM THE LUZERNE COUNTY CORRECTION FACILITY BY CLAIMING HE GAVE AN INFLATED NUMBER OF HAIRCUTS. THE BARBER IS CHARGED WITH THEFT BY DECEPTION AND TAMPERING WITH RECORDS.

STATE. OFFICIALS IN NORTH CAROLINA ARE BRACING FOR ANOTHER DAY OF
