PITTSBURGH (AP) - A federal judge ordered a former administrative assistant at K-D-K-A-T-V to return salary information she took from the station. C-B-S Broadcasting, the station's parent company, had sued Carey Robinson to prevent herfrom distributing the information and to seek its return, claiming it could put the station at a competitive disadvantage. Robinson says she was the victim of racial discrimination.
PITTSBURGH (AP) - The son of an Allegheny County judge is charged in a bank fraud scheme. The U-S Attorney's office charged Lee Mazur Junior with money laundering and conspiracy to commit mail and bank fraud yesterday. Prosecutors say one loan was in the judge's name, though he wasn't aware. Neither Mazur could be reached for comment yesterday.
ERIE, Pa. (AP) - The Roman Catholic Diocese of Erie is closing Sacred Heart School in Erie and Saint Titus School in Titusville atthe end of the school year. The diocese cite slumping enrollment and increased operational costs. Enrollment at both schools has decreased more than 50 percent since 2001.
PITTSBURGH (AP) - Bill Cowher has resigned as the Pittsburgh Steelers' coach. He says he wants to spend more time with his family. It's been just a year since he won the Super Bowl title he had chased since 1992. The 49-year-old Cowher has one year remaining on his contract following a season that ended with eight wins and eight losses.
PITTSBURGH (AP) - Six women who were drugged and sexually assaulted by a former Rite Aid store manager are suing him and the company for 18 (M) million dollars. Donald Preik Junior is serving 20 to 64 years in prison for drugging and sexually assaulting the women and photographing the attacks. He managed a Rite Aid store in Clairton.
