BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) - Two of Saddam Hussein's loyalists have been executed in Baghdad. An Iraqi government spokesman says there were no taunts like the ones when Saddam was put to death. One of the men executed was Saddam's half-brother. His head was severed during
the hanging.
WASHINGTON (AP) - As the House and Senate prepare resolutions opposing a U-S troop buildup, President Bush tells "60 Minutes" he's "going forward" with the plan no matter what. And Vice President Cheney says in a Fox interview that Democrats are criticizing, but aren't offering any alternatives.
ST. LOUIS (AP) - The storm that pummeled the middle of the country is expected to slide into the Northeast today, with rain and snow. Utility crews are restoring power to hundreds of thousands of ice storm victims in Missouri and Oklahoma, where below-zero temperatures are forecast tonight.
ATLANTA (AP) - Atlanta and New York will be epicenters of celebration of the life of the Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. Celebrations of the civil right's leader's life will be held at Ebenezer Baptist Church, where he preached, and at sites in New York City, where top officials plan to attend.
EAST HAMPTON, N.Y. (AP) - Rescuers on Long Island will try again today to herd a group of stranded dolphins out of a shallow cove in East Hampton and back out to sea. Warm water and abundant fish apparently lured the sea mammals to the shallow waters of the cove.
