A convenience store was robbed late last night in Frackville. Details are sketchy, but officials at Schuylkill 9-1-1 Center confirmed that the Turkey Hill Minit Market on Lehigh Avenue was robbed around 11pm Sunday. What is known, is that a lone bandit entered the store, was armed, and took cash. Details will be released upon completion of their investigation.

An Auburn man died in a one vehicle crash around noon Saturday. Schuylkill Haven State Police say that 56-year-old Ray Schwenk Sr. was westbound on the Tumbling Run Road. His car left the roadway, traveled onto the shoulder and struck a large tree. The severe impact of the crash caused Schwenk’s death. The crash occurred around 12:20pm.

Roving DUI patrols were conducted on area roadways Saturday night. A total of 105 vehicles were stopped, with 4 drivers tested for DUI. There were no adult arrests, but two were cited for underage drinking. Fifty other traffic arrests were completed, six of them being of a criminal nature. Six police departments participated. The checkpoint/roving DUI patrol is part of the North Central PA Regional Sobriety Checkpoint and Expanded DUI/ Underage Drinking Enforcement Program.
