National and International News-Wednesday, Dec. 13th

WHITE HOUSE (AP) - President Bush heads to the Pentagon this afternoon as he continues to rethink U-S policy toward Iraq. Commanders who met with him yesterday urged significantly beefed-up support for Iraq's army, including vehicles and body armor. They also dashed hopes for a fairly quick U-S pullout.

BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) - Killing reports from Iraq continue in a seemingly nonstop stream. At least eleven people died today when a parked car blew up near a Baghdad bus stop. And four Iraqi soldiers were killed when two suicide car bombers attacked their base in the north.

NEW YORK (AP) - Saudi Arabia warns it could get sucked into the Iraq war if the U-S leaves. The New York Times says the Saudis have told the Bush administration they're prepared to prop-up the minority Sunnis rather than see them massacred by Iraq's Shiite majority.

JOHNSON SPACE CENTER, Houston (AP) - After yesterday's successful space-walking construction work on the international space station, the shuttle crew spends much of today getting set for tomorrow's re-wiring project. One part of the job involves the complicated re-folding of a huge solar panel.

LONDON (AP) - No big surprises are expected in the official report to be released by the British government tomorrow on Princess Diana's death. It's likely to rule the 1997 Paris car crash was an accident and blame the drunk driver. Conspiracy theorists are already calling it a whitewash.
