Local News-Monday, Dec. 11th

Schuylkill Products Inc. of Cressona will be moving oversized loads again this week. Motorists should be aware that 2 oversize loads will leave the plant on Route 901, the Gordon Nagle Trail at 9am today. Delays can be expected on Route 61 south to Interstate 78. The beams are being transported to a job site in Lycoming County. Subsequent loads will move every day this week. Stay tuned for updates.

A man from Nevada is in county prison on numerous charges. Delano Township police were stopped by a man who reported being shot at. Police found Lynn Gemmill of Henderson, Nevada in a car, with a small amount of drugs and paraphernalia. He was charged with simple assault, hunting violations, assault and drug possession. Gemmill was arraigned at Schuylkill County Prison, where he remains after being unable to post bail.

State police at Frackville netted two DUI arrests Sunday. Around 2am, troopers found 63-year-old Joseph Buchinsky of Mary-D passed out behind the wheel on Route 209 in Schuylkill Township, blocking the northbound lane. He was arrested on suspicion of driving drunk, and will be charged after blood alcohol tests are completed. After 8pm last night, state police stopped Melanie Moore of New Philadelphia, who was driving on the Morea Road. An investigation found that she appeared to be driving drunk. She was taken to the Frackville barracks, where a breath test determined she was DUI. Charges will be filed.

Two young people are accused of possessing drugs and alcohol following an incident Sunday morning in Middleport. State police say a suspicious vehicle was spotted on Kaska Street just after midnight. An inspection found that 18-year-old Jillian Rolenaitis of Middleport and 20-year-old Justin Lare of Tamaqua were found with beer, marijuana and related material. Charges of possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and underage drinking will be filed against the two in district court.

Frackville police are looking for a black pickup involved in a hit and run Saturday night. The incident occurred in the 100 block of West Chestnut Street. The vehicle in question is a 1980’s Black Ford F150. There is reported damage to the right front side of the vehicle. If anyone has information, call Frackville Police.

A Schuylkill Haven man was hurt following a two vehicle crash in Wayne Township Sunday morning. 25-year-old Eric Hallick was westbound on Route 443, attempting to turn left onto Route 183. A car driven by 71-year-old Charles Youse of Schuylkill Haven was traveling east on Route 443. Hallick pulled into the path of Youse’s car and they crashed. Hallick had minor injuries. Youse, and his passenger were not hurt. All were wearing their seatbelts. Both will be cited in the crash.
