NICKEL MINES, Pa. (AP) - Under the glare of construction lights, workers have demolished the one-room Amish schoolhouse in Pennsylvania where a gunman fatally shot five girls last week. Officials have said the site will be turned into a pasture.

NEW YORK (AP) - New York Yankee Jason Giambi says he's "in a state of shock" over the sudden death of teammate Cory Lidle. Lidle and another man were killed when the small plane they were flying slammed into a Manhattan high-rise apartment yesterday. Federal investigators say there was no mayday beforehand.

CAPITOL HILL (AP) - House investigators today will question witnesses in the House page scandal. Among those being quizzed will be former Congressman Mark Foley's chief of staff. Kirk Fordham says he warned the speaker's chief of staff about Foley's approaches to male pages in 2002 or 2003.

SEOUL, South Korea (AP) - The U-S is pushing a new U-N resolution that would slap a travel ban on North Korea for its alleged nuclear test. Japan's ruling party today supported blocking the North's ships from Japanese waters. North Korea says the Japanese move would lead to "strong countermeasures."

UNDATED (AP) - Tour de France winner Floyd Landis is going public with his defense against doping allegations. The cyclist lays out his case in a PowerPoint presentation on his Web site.Several hundred pages of documents related to the charges are also posted.
