CHICAGO (AP) - A Kentucky baby who had been taken away from his mother has been found safe in Illinois, along with his mother and her boyfriend. They fled on Monday after a social worker brought him for a visit. The social worker was later found beaten to death in the mother's home.
BEIJING (AP) - China says it will carry out its obligations as far as North Korea is concerned. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice is in Beijing to help maintain China's cooperation in enforcing U-N sanctions over North Korea's nuclear test.
JERUSALEM (AP) - Israel's prime minister is demanding that Iran back down from its nuclear ambitions or there will be a "price to pay." Israel took out Iraq's nuclear reactor in 1981, although military action against Iran isn't considered likely.
LIGHTHOUSE POINT, Fla. (AP) - Surgeons have been able to remove a foot-long stingray barb from the chest of a Florida man who was stung on his boat. Authorities say the stingray had flopped onto the man's boat, and he was trying to get it off, when he was stabbed.
NEW YORK (AP) - It'll be the St. Louis Cardinals and the Detroit Tigers in the World Series. St. Louis beat the New York Mets 3-to-1 in game seven in New York last night to win the National League Championship Series. The World Series begins tomorrow night in Detroit.
