THE PHILADELPHIA DAILY NEWS SAYS 48-YEAR-OLD JOHN BENSON WAS SENTENCED WEDNESDAY TO 30 TO 72 YEARS IN PRISON IN THE FEBRUARY 2010 ROBBERY OF THE PLATINUM & ICE STORE. BENSON WAS CONVICTED IN AUGUST OF ATTEMPTED MURDER, CONSPIRACY, RETAIL THEFT, CHILD ENDANGERMENT, AND ROBBERY, AND OF ASSAULTING THE JEWELER WHOSE THROAT WAS SLASHED AS HE CHASED THE ROBBER. THE JUDGE SENTENCED 32-YEAR-OLD SHEAKIA (SHUH-KEE'-UH) STUBBS TO 11 1/2 TO 23 MONTHS WITH IMMEDIATE PAROLE AND TWO YEARS OF PROBATION, NOTING THAT SHE HAD LEFT THE STORE WITH THE CHILD BEFORE THE ROBBERY.
