UPDATE ON KULPMONT WOMAN'S DEATH
THE INVESTIGATION INTO THE SUSPICIOUS DEATH OF A 22 YEAR OLD KULPMONT WOMAN INDICATE THAT SHE AND HER LIVE IN BOYFRIEND CONSUMED DRUGS AND ALCOHOL. THE REPUBLICAN HERALD REPORTS THAT 22 YEAR OLD KORTNI ANN KENENITZ, WHO WAS FOUND DEAD IN HER CAR IN THE NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY BOROUGH EARLY THURSDAY. KENENITZ' BOYFRIEND JOHN TYM TOLD POLICE THAT THE COUPLE PARTIED IN MOUNT CARMEL AND GIRARDVILLE BEFORE RETURNING TO KULPMONT. TYM IS NOW JAILED AT SCHUYLKILL COUNTY PRISON ON AN UNRELATED OUTSTANDING WARRANT. HE SAID HE "BLACKED OUT" AFTER THE BINGE. THE EXACT CAUSE OF THE WOMAN'S DEATH HAS NOT BEEN DETERMINED. THE INVESTIGATION CONTINUES.
EIGHT ARRESTED IN PRESCRIPTION DRUG RAID
A GROUP OF MEN AND WOMEN, EIGHT IN ALL, HAVE BEEN ARRESTED BY POTTSVILLE POLICE RELATING TO THE ILLEGAL SALE OF PRESCRIPTION DRUGS. THOSE CHARGED INCLUDE 43 YEAR OLD RICHARD HIMMELBERGER, 21 YEAR OLD KYLE MCDANIEL, 55 YEAR OLD LEROY ROYER, 40 YEAR OLD GREGORY WABO, 48 YEAR OLD MAUREEN HOLLEY AND 28 YEAR OLD GINA KEITER FACE VARIOUS FELONY DRUG COUNTS. 45 YEAR OLD NADINE ORTEZ BELAUS WAS WANTED ON TWO OUTSTANDING WARRANTS FOR DRUGS, AND TWO JUVENILES ARE ALSO IMPLICATED. THE INVESTIGATION CONTINUES.
POTTSVILLE POLICE CONDUCTING INVESTIGATION
A ROUTINE TRAFFIC STOP HAS LED TO THE INVESTIGATION INTO POSSESSION OF ILLEGAL DRUGS IN POTTSVILLE. CITY POLICE EARLIER THIS WEEK STOPPED A CAR OWNED BY AN AUBURN WOMAN, AND DRIVEN BY 20 YEAR OLD TYKEEM BROWN OF POTTSVILLE FOR AN EQUIPMENT VIOLATION. A SEARCH OF THE VEHICLE UNCOVERED WHAT APPEARED TO BE TWO BAGS OF MARIJUANA AND OTHER PARAPHERNALIA. THE ITEMS WERE SENT TO THE STATE POLICE CRIME LAB FOR ANALYSIS. CHARGES ARE PENDING THE OUTCOME OF THAT STUDY.
BURGLARY INVESTIGATION
POTTSVILLE CITY POLICE HAVE MADE ARRESTS IN CONNECTION WITH SEVERAL CITY BURGLARIES. MATTHEW STEPHANY AND ALLEN THOMPSON WERE FOUND TO HAVE CUT ELECTRICAL WIRING, COPPER PIPING AND BURGLARY TOOLS. FURTHER INVESTIGATION DETERMINED THAT BOTH MEN ENTERED 257 PEACOCK STREET IN THE CITY AND TOOK THE ITEMS. BOTH MEN ALSO TOLD POLICE THEY WERE INVOLVED IN OTHER BURGLARIES IN THE CITY, AND WERE ARRAIGNED AND SENT TO THE SCHUYLKILL COUNTY PRISON, BEING UNABLE TO POST BAIL. CITY POLICE ARE ASKING RESIDENTS IF THEY WERE VICTIMIZED BY RECENT BURGLARIES TO CALL 622-1234.

EASTON, PA. (AP) - A SUBURBAN PHILADELPHIA MAN HAS ADMITTED FATALLY SHOOTING A WOMAN ON CHRISTMAS EVE BECAUSE HE BELIEVED SHE HAD ROBBED HIM. FORTY-SEVEN-YEAR-OLD JOHN MCGLINCHEY III, OF NOCKAMIXON, PLEADED GUILTY TO FIRST-DEGREE MURDER ON FRIDAY IN NORTHAMPTON COUNTY COURT. MCGLINCHEY HAD CLAIMED HE WAS DRUGGED AT A BAR AND ROBBED ON DEC. 24. HE THOUGHT 43-YEAR-OLD KIMIKO MOON WAS INVOLVED, AND SHOT HER AT HER FAMILY'S HOME IN EASTON. SHE DIED 11 DAYS LATER. IN EXCHANGE FOR THE PLEA, PROSECUTORS DROPPED ATTEMPTED MURDER CHARGES AGAINST MCGLINCHEY FOR SHOOTING MOON'S TEENAGE NEPHEW AS HE DECORATED A CHRISTMAS TREE AT THE HOUSE. CLAIRTON, PA. (AP) - ONE PERSON HAS BEEN KILLED IN A HOME INVASION IN THE CRIME-RIDDEN PITTSBURGH SUBURB OF CLAIRTON. THE PITTSBURGH POST-GAZETTE SAYS AN ALLEGHENY COUNTY 911 DISPATCHER IS CONFIRMING THE DEATH, BUT DOES NOT KNOW WHETHER THE DEAD PERSON IS A RESIDENT OF THE HOME OR THE SUSPECTED INTRUDER. A JUDGE THREW OUT RESISTING ARREST CHARGES AGAINST MILES WHO SAYS HE THOUGHT THE PLAINCLOTHES OFFICERS DIDN'T IDENTIFY THEMSELVES AND MEANT HIM HARM. THE OFFICERS SAY THEY BELIEVED MILES WAS TRESPASSING - EVEN THOUGH THE PROPERTY OWNER SAID SHE KNEW HIM WELL - AND SAY THEY MISTOOK HIS SODA BOTTLE FOR A GUN.
