COLD AND SNOWY WEATHER IS IN THE FORECAST FOR THE NEXT DAY OR SO, AS A TWO STORM TANDEM IS EXPECTED TO OVERSPREAD THE AREA THIS AFTERNOON INTO LATE TOMORROW. A STORM SYSTEM FROM THE SOUTHWEST AND ONE FORMING OFF THE EAST COAST ARE EXPECTED TO BRING ACCUMULATING SNOW, POSSIBLY A FOOT OR MORE, TO THE GREATER SCHUYLKILL COUNTY REGION. WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO GUST INTO THE 20 MILE PER HOUR RANGE, WITH BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW LIKELY. A WINTER STORM WARNING WILL BE IN EFFECT FROM 1PM TODAY. MAHANOY CITY MAN SHOT

A MAHANOY CITY MAN IS DEAD AFTER BEING SHOT IN HIS HOME SUNDAY NIGHT. BOROUGH POLICE REPORT THAT 20 YEAR OLD JASON WORMAN AND HIS GIRLFRIEND WERE HANDLING A 22 CALIBER REVOLVER IN THE ATTIC OF A HOME ON EAST PINE STREET WHEN THE GUN WENT OFF. WORMAN WAS SHOT IN THE CHEST. HE WAS FLOWN TO LEHIGH VALLEY HOSPITAL WHERE HE DIED EARLY MONDAY. POLICE SAY THEY DON'T BELIEVE ANY FOUL PLAY WAS INVOLVED.

HARRISBURG, PA. (AP) - GOV. ED RENDELL IS SET TO DELIVER HIS FINAL BUDGET ADDRESS TO THE PENNSYLVANIA LEGISLATURE ON TUESDAY. HE IS EXPECTED TO CALL FOR AN APPROXIMATELY 4 PERCENT SPENDING INCREASE IN THE 2010-11 BUDGET WHEN HE ADDRESSES A JOINT SESSION OF THE LEGISLATURE AT 10:30 A.M.

PITTSBURGH (AP) - WITH ANOTHER MAJOR SNOW STORM ON THE WAY, THOUSANDS OF PENNSYLVANIA RESIDENTS ARE STILL WAITING TO GET THEIR POWER BACK FROM THE WEEKEND STORM. ALLEGHENY POWER SAYS NEARLY 40,000 CUSTOMERS IN SOUTHWESTERN PENNSYLVANIA HAVE NO ELECTRICITY TUESDAY MORNING.

WASHINGTON (AP) - A COLLEAGUE OF THE LATE U.S. REP. JOHN MURTHA SAYS THE CONGRESSMAN'S LARGE INTESTINE WAS DAMAGED DURING GALLBLADDER SURGERY LAST MONTH, LEADING TO HIS DEATH. REP. BOB BRADY SAYS MURTHA DEVELOPED AN INFECTION AND WAS HOSPITALIZED IN ARLINGTON, VA., ON JAN. 31. HE DIED YESTERDAY AT THE AGE OF 77.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - PHILADELPHIA POLICE HAVE CHARGED A MAN WITH USING DRAIN CLEANER TO KILL A 20-MONTH-OLD BOY HE WAS BABY-SITTING. AARON PACE OF NORTH PHILADELPHIA IS ACCUSED OF DOUSING A RAG WITH THE CAUSTIC SUBSTANCE AND RUBBING IT ONTO THE CHILD'S SKIN BECAUSE THE BOY HAD BEEN UNCOOPERATIVE AND CRYING. THE CHILD DIED SEVERAL DAYS LATER.

WASHINGTON (AP) - THE NATION'S CAPITAL IS GETTING A ONE-TWO PUNCH FROM MOTHER NATURE. JUST AS THE MID-ATLANTIC REGION DIGS OUT SLOWLY FROM A WEEKEND BLIZZARD THAT SHUT DOWN AIR, RAIL AND AUTOMOBILE TRAVEL WITH MORE THAN 2 FEET OF SNOW, ANOTHER STORM ARRIVES TODAY. WASHINGTON COULD GET ANOTHER FOOT OR MORE OF SNOW.

TOKYO (AP) - TOYOTA SAYS IT WILL RECALL 133,000 PRIUS CARS AND 14,500 LEXUS HS250H VEHICLES IN THE U.S. THEY'RE PART OF A WORLDWIDE RECALL OF ABOUT 437,000 PRIUS AND OTHER HYBRID VEHICLES TO FIX BRAKE PROBLEMS. U.S. OWNERS WILL START RECEIVING LETTERS NEXT WEEK. TOYOTA HAS ALSO RECALLED MILLIONS OF OTHER VEHICLES FOR FAULTY GAS PEDALS.

CAPE CANAVERAL, FLA. (AP) - THINGS LOOK GOOD ABOARD THE SHUTTLE. WASHINGTON (AP) - PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA WILL MEET WITH TOP LAWMAKERS FROM BOTH PARTIES TODAY IN HOPES OF LAUNCHING A NEW JOBS BILL TOWARD QUICK PASSAGE. IT WOULD INCLUDE SMALL BUSINESS TAX BREAKS AND NEW LENDING THAT HE HOPES WILL HAVE BIPARTISAN APPEAL. BUT MANY REPUBLICANS ARE WARY OF THE PACKAGE'S SPENDING COMPONENT.

WASHINGTON (AP) - THE REPUBLICANS' FIRST TEST OF THEIR NEW SENATE CLOUT COULD COME IN A VOTE TODAY TO BLOCK PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA'S CHOICE OF A UNION ATTORNEY FOR A SEAT ON THE NATIONAL LABOR RELATIONS BOARD. DEMOCRATS NEED 60 VOTES, ONE MORE THAN THEY CONTROL, TO CLEAR A GOP PROCEDURAL HURDLE TO ADVANCE CRAIG BECKER TO A FINAL SENATE CONFIRMATION VOTE.
