HEARING HELD ON NORTH SCHUYLKILL
SCHUYLKILL COUNTY JUDGE D MICHAEL STINE HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO QUESTION NEARLY A DOZEN AND A HALF OF THE 26 INTERESTED PERSONS WHO WANT TO SERVE ON THE NORTH SCHUYLKILL SCHOOL BOARD. A COMMON THEME AMONG THE HOMEMAKERS, PROFESSIONALS, AND CONCERNED CITIZENS WAS THE PRIDE THAT THEY HAVE IN THEIR SCHOOL DISTRICT, ITS STUDENTS AND FACULTY. EACH CANDIDATE WAS CALLED TO THE STAND UNDER OATH INDIVIDUALLY ABOUT THEIR QUALIFICATIONS AND ELIGIBILITY TO SERVE. NINE CANDIDATES DID NOT APPEAR FOR THE HEARING. THE JUDGE IS EXPECTED TO RULE ON THE FOUR CANDIDATES SHORTLY.
