Pennsylvania State Police find body while searching for missing wife

A state trooper says a body found in Northumerland County is so decomposed that the person's gender is unclear. Authorities found the body in Gowen City while searching for 42-year-old Sherry Wolfgang. But Trooper Matthew Burrows says he's not assuming that the body found today is that of the Mount Carmel woman. He says it could take weeks to identify the body. Wolfgang's husband has been jailed since January. Her vehicle was on fire in a state game lands parking area in Schuylkill County. Police say her husband, 46-year-old Steve Wolfgang, emerged from the woods and told officers that he'd killed his wife and dumped her body in Mahanoy Creek. But he has since denied killing her. He says his wife left him and he started the fire in a suicide attempt. He's awaiting sentencing for arson.
