NICKEL MINES, Pa. (AP) - Authorities in Pennsylvania say a fourth girl shot by a gunman at an Amish schoolhouse has died. There'll be a community prayer vigil tonight for the tiny community of Nickel Mines, Pennsylvania. The shooter, said to be seeking revenge for something, killed himself.
ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - House Republican leaders are under fire, accused of not moving quickly enough on the latest congressional scandal. Florida Republican Mark Foley quit amid revelations of steamy messages to congressional pages. His name's still on the November ballot but the votes will go to another Republican.
JEDDAH, Saudi Arabia (AP) - Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice says Palestinians deserve calm. She's appealing for an end to factional fighting. Rice is in the Middle East in an attempt to shore up Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas as well as the governments in Lebanon and Iraq.
BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) - Iraq's prime minister has announced a new plan aimed at ending the deepening crisis between Shiite and Sunni parties and uniting them behind the drive to stop sectarian killings. Meantime, at least nine people died in attacks around Iraq today.
UNDATED (AP) - Thousands of northeastern Illinois homes and businesses are still without power today after thunderstorms that flooded some city streets and expressways. Crews are working to restore power and officials say more than 200-thousand Commonwealth Edison customers are still in the dark.
