WEATHER UPDATE-9AM

GOOD MORNING
THE EFFECTS OF HURRICANE IRENE CONTINUE TO BE FELT ACROSS THE REGION THIS SUNDAY MORNING. HEAVY RAIN AND WIND GUSTS CONTINUE TO PLAY HAVOC. PPL RESOURCES ARE REPORTING NEARLY 16 THOUSAND PEOPLE WITHOUT POWER AT 9AM. THEY ARE WORKING AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE TO RESTORE POWER. TREES ARE DOWNED AND DEBRIS IS LITTERING THE ROADWAYS CAUSING SOME ROAD CLOSURES.
