MAN PICKED UP ON OUTSTANDING WARRANT

A TIP LEADS TO THE ARREST AN ALLENTOWN MAN WANTED ON AN OUTSTANDING WARRANT. IT WAS REPORTED THAT 19 YEAR OLD RYAN ARROYO WAS AT A HOME ON MT VERNON STREET, SHENANDOAH OVER THE WEEKEND. ARROYO WAS WANTED BY WEST MAHANOY TOWNSHIP POLICE FOR POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA AND RELATED COUNTS. STATE POLICE TOOK THE SUSPECT INTO CUSTODY WITHOUT INCIDENT. FOLLOWING ARRAIGNMENT, ARROYO WAS TAKEN TO THE COUNTY PRISON, UNABLE TO POST BAIL.

FIRE WRAP

AUTHORITIES HAVE IDENTIFIED THE MAN KILLED IN A FRIDAY NIGHT FIRE IN LAKE WYNONAH, AND INVESTIGATORS CONTINUE TO LOOK INTO THE EXACT CAUSE. 66 YEAR OLD RICHARD ZIMMERMAN OF 562 COYOTE DRIVE WAS PRONOUNCED DEAD AT 9PM FRIDAY. HIS BODY WAS FOUND NEAR AN EXIT OF THE HOME. COUNTY CORONER JOSEPH LIPSETT SAYS ZIMMERMAN DIED OF CARBON MONOXIDE AND SMOKE, AND THE DEATH CLASSIFIED AS ACCIDENTAL. REPORTS FROM THE STATE POLICE FIRE MARSHAL SAY IT STARTED IN THE CELLAR OF A HOME, BUT AN EXACT CAUSE HAS NOT YET BEEN FOUND.

DRIVER DISTRACTED BY CELL PHONE

STATE POLICE REPORT A CRASH SATURDAY NIGHT IN NEW CASTLE TOWNSHIP. THE DRIVER, 35 YEAR OLD KYLE RACZKA OF POTTSVILLE WAS APPARENTLY DISTRACTED BY A CELL PHONE CALL HE RECEIVED, AND LOST CONTROL ON A LEFT CURVE. RACZKA'S CAR STRUCK A GUIDE RAIL ON THE RIGHT SIDE, AND HE FLED THE SCENE. RACZKA WAS NOT HURT, BUT WILL BE CHARGED WITH HIT AND RUN AND CARELESS DRIVING.

WOMAN TO BE CHARGED WITH HARASSMENT

A SHEPPTON WOMAN WILL BE CHARGED WITH HARASSMENT FOLLOWING AN INCIDENT SUNDAY AFTERNOON. STATE POLICE AT FRACKVILLE REPORT THAT 39 YEAR OLD LISA ANN BANGS THREATENED 50 YEAR OLD CAROL ANN WALLACE AT A HOME ON WEST PINE STREET IN EAST UNION TOWNSHIP. BANGS THREATED WALLACE WITH BODILY HARM.

WASHINGTON (AP) - TWO THOUSAND FEDERAL TRANSPORTATION WORKERS WON'T HAVE A JOB TO GO TO TODAY. THE TRANSPORTATION DEPARTMENT SAYS THEY WERE FURLOUGHED BECAUSE REPUBLICAN SEN. JIM BUNNING BLOCKED PASSAGE OF LEGISLATION THAT WOULD HAVE EXTENDED FEDERAL HIGHWAY AND TRANSIT PROGRAMS.
