CRIMINAL ACTIVITY
STATE POLICE AT FRACKVILLE ARE INVESTIGATING SEVERAL INCIDENTS OF CRIMINAL ACTIVITY ON NEW YEARS DAY. EARLY FRIDAY, 21 YEAR OLD ANTHONY CONTI OF RINGTOWN, HEAVILY INTOXICATED, RECEIVED A RIDE HOME FROM 19 YEAR OLD COURTNEY KLINGAMAN, THE MOTHER OF HIS CHILD. CONTI BEGAN ARGUING WITH KLINGAMAN, AND DID DAMAGE TO THE INTERIOR OF HER VEHICLE, CRACKED THE WINDSHIELD WITH HIS HEAD AND SHATTERED THE DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW WITH HIS FIST. KLINGAMAN WAS HURT BY FLYING GLASS. CONTI WILL BE CHARGED WITH CRIMINAL MISCHIEF AND HARASSMENT AND KLINGMAN CITED FOR DRIVING WITH A SUSPENDED LICENSE. IN THE SECOND INCIDENT, 36 YEAR OLD GREGORY WILLIAMS OF ASHLAND ENTERED THE FRACKVILLE HOME OF ANGELA SHELITSKY ON SOUTH SPENCER STREET, BUT FLED BEFORE STATE POLICE ARRIVED. WILLIAMS WAS LOCATED A SHORT TIME LATER, AND CHARGED WITH CRIMINAL TRESPASS AND ARRAIGNED BEFORE DISTRICT JUDGE CAROL PANKAKE.
LYKENS MAN ID'D IN CRASH ON I-81
STATE POLICE HAVE NOW RELEASED THE IDENTITY OF A LYKENS MAN WHO DIED ON INTERSTATE 81 NEW YEARS EVE. JONESTOWN TROOPERS SAY 31 YEAR OLD SEAN WEISER WAS KILLED IN THE CRASH WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE AROUND 7:30AM, NEAR MILE MARKER 101. WEISER REPORTEDLY LOST CONTROL ON THE SNOWY INTERSTATE AND CRASHED INTO A TRACTOR TRAILER DRIVEN BY 45 YEAR OLD WILLIAM MCCAULLEY OF ELLIOTSBURG. MCCAULLEY WAS TAKEN TO HERSHEY MEDICAL CENTER, WHERE HE REMAINS TODAY.
PHILADELPHIA (AP) - POLICE SAY A DRIVER INVOLVED IN A FATAL CHAIN-REACTION CRASH ON INTERSTATE 95 IN PHILADELPHIA IS BEING CHARGED WITH HOMICIDE AND DRUNKEN DRIVING. POLICE SAY THE DRIVER, WHO WAS NOT IMMEDIATELY IDENTIFIED, WAS DRUNK WHEN HE CRASHED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE THAT HAD RUN INTO A DISABLED VAN EARLY NEW YEAR'S DAY, KILLING TWO PEOPLE.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - PHILADELPHIA POLICE STILL HAVEN'T ARRESTED ANY SUSPECTS IN A SHOOTING THAT INJURED AN OFF-DUTY POLICE OFFICER AND KILLED HIS FRIEND. THE OFFICER, 23-YEAR-OLF MARTIN CAMPBELL, IS RECOVERING FROM SURGERY AFTER THE BULLET NICKED AN ARTERY IN HIS
LEG. HIS FRIEND, 30-YEAR-OLD RASHEEN ALLEN, DIED AFTER BEING SHOT
IN THE HEAD.
ERIE, PA. (AP) - A PENNSYLVANIA APPEALS COURT JUDGE SAYS THE 9-18 YEAR PRISON SENTENCE A FORMER MERCYHURST COLLEGE VOLLEYBALL PLAYER FOR KILLING HER NEWBORN DAUGHTER WAS HARSHER THAN HAD BEEN EXPECTED UNDER A PLEA DEAL. THE JUDGE ON THURSDAY OVERTURNED THE SENTENCE OF TERI RHODES, SAYING THE TRIAL JUDGE ABUSED HIS DISCRETION IN THE CASE. RHODES PLEADED GUILTY TO MANSLAUGHTER IN 2008.
