CAR CRASHES INTO DAYCARE

A GILBERTON WOMAN WAS INJURED FRIDAY AFTERNOON WHEN A CAR CRASHED INTO A PORT CARBON BUSINESS. PORT CARBON POLICE SAY 37 YEAR OLD JENNIFER MOCK OF POTTSVILLE WAS FOLLOWING A JEEP DRIVEN BY A 17 YEAR OLD FROM PORT CARBON ON ROUTE 209 . THE JEEP MADE A TURN ONTO WOOD STREET, BUT MOCK WAS DISTRACTED BY A PUPPY IN THE FRONT SEAT AND HER CAR ENDED UP INSIDE LITTLE SUNSHINES DAYCARE ON WASHINGTON STREET. ASHLEY MERCHLINSKY OF GILBERTON SUFFERED A LEG INJURY INSIDE THE BUILDING, BUT NONE OF THE OTHER CHILDREN OR WORKERS, SOME 40 IN ALL, WERE HURT. MOCK SHOWED SIGNS OF BEING INTOXICATED, FAILED A FIELD SOBRIETY TEST AND WAS ARRESTED. THE CRASH HAPPENED AROUND 2PM YESTERDAY.

WOMAN WALKING ON HIGHWAY

A PINE GROVE WOMAN IS CHARGED WITH PUBLIC INTOXICATION FOLLOWING AN INCIDENT EARLY THIS MORNING IN PINE GROVE TOWNSHIP. STATE POLICE AT SCHUYLKILL HAVEN SAY MICHELLE SCHNECK WAS SEEN WALKING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE EASTBOUND LANE OF OAK GROVE ROAD, AND WAS FOUND TO BE DRUNK. SHE FACES CHARGES.

THANKSGIVING FIRE FOUND TO BE ACCIDENTAL

A FIRE THAT DESTROYED A HOME ON THANKSGIVING HAS BEEN RULED ACCIDENTAL. THATS ACCORDING TO A STATE POLICE FIRE MARSHAL. THE HOME AT 106 WOODLAND DRIVE, OWNED BY THE JAMES AND LISA BEIGLER FAMILY, WERE NOT HOME AT THE TIME FIRE BROKE OUT. INVESTIGATORS SAY THE BLAZE STARTED NEAR A CLOTHING DRYER IN THE HOME. CREWS FROM LANDINGVILLE AND SURROUNDING COMMUNITIES BATTLED THE BLAZE FOR SEVERAL HOURS. TOTAL LOSS IS ESTIMATED AT NEARLY $200 THOUSAND DOLLARS.
