Pottsville's two hospitals are now working as Schuylkill Health System. Effective August 1st, Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center and Pottsville Hospital and Warne Clinic have joined forces, after governmental approvals were received. Good Sam is now known as Schuylkill Medical Center-East Norwegian Street, and the Pottsville Hospital is known as Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson Street. John Simodejka has been appointed as President and CEO of Schuylkill Health System. Hospital officials expect that a full integration of the two hospitals will take several years.
