It was a packed house at the former Leiby's restaurant Monday, but not for a slice of pie. Bidding for the property at the corner of Routes 309 and 443 began at 1pm. Several interested parties bantered back and forth during the auction, until the gavel fell and Gary Dell'Alba of Center Valley purchased the property and contents for $1.515 million dollars. Dell'Alba owns several convenience stores, and was unsure of what he would do with the property. The Zimmerman family started Leiby's in the mid 60's as an ice cream stand and expanded the business to include a restaurant that was known for its signature pies and many flavors of ice cream.
